Naomi Johnson, NCTM

Naomi has been studying classical piano since she was 7 years old. Much of her success can be attributed to her mother, who encouraged daily practice and emphasized quality work. Naomi performed in countless recitals, church events, and competitions throughout elementary, middle, and high school. She started teaching her younger brother when she was in 6th grade. Once she reached 9th grade, she was teaching up to 5 students a week.

In high school, Naomi decided to join the program called Running Start, and worked towards receiving her Associate in Arts during her junior and senior years. In 2013, she graduated from Eisenhower High School and Yakima Valley Community College, and was ranked within the top ten of her class. She also received multiple music scholarships from a handful of universities.

In 2018, Naomi released her first album called "Naomi Johnson, The Piano Album," which can be found on almost every streaming service and platform.

In 2019, Naomi earned her National Certification as a music teacher from the Music National Teachers Association.

Today, Naomi teaches at her piano studio in Yakima, Washington. She is the president of the local Yakima-Ellensburg chapter of the Washington State Music Teachers Association, and encourages her students to participate in local WSMTA events. She and her husband, Ryan Johnson, live in Toppenish, Washington.
